OVERCOMING FAMILY CHALLENGES (2)

Hello Reader,
Last week, I taught on covetousness as one of the challenges of the family. This week, I will be teaching on Barrenness as one of the challenges that is facing some families today. It is however worthy of note that marriage is designed for fruitfulness.

The instruction given to man in the beginning is to be fruitful and multiply (Genesis 1:28). That means God has given man what it takes to be fruitful. The Word of God also says: You shall be blessed above all people: there shall not be male or female barren among you, or among your cattle (Deuteronomy 7:14).

God wants you to be fruitful. Therefore, if there be any case of barrenness, it is certainly not from God because He did not create you so. You were complete at creation and God said you were very good. Therefore, if people call you barren, God does not and He can heal you, and He wants to. All cases of barrenness in the Bible were healed, except Mical (David’s wife), who was cursed for scorning her husband. Barrenness is a curse, but thank God that Christ has redeemed us from the curse of the law (Galatians 3:13).

You need to find out what God’s Word says about you, if you are faced with barrenness. Accept the Word of God and walk in it. Remember, after creation, God said that everything He created was very good – including you. If there is anything missing in you (medically speaking) that is responsible for that barrenness, the devil is the thief that stole it. However, the good news is, God has the power to replace whatever the devil has stolen in your body. The Word of God says: The thief comes not, but for to steal, and to kill, and to destroy: I am come that they might have life, and that they might have it more abundantly (John 10:10).
Everything God said when He was creating the world came to be. Therefore, it is impossible for what God has said concerning you and your home to fail. The counsel of the Lord stands for ever (Psalm 33:11); whatever He does abides forever and nothing can be added to it or taken away from it (Ecclesiastes 3:14).
Since God has said to you, “Be fruitful”, blocked fallopian tubes, low sperm count, or any of such, can’t stop that Word from coming to pass in your life. He said, “Let there be light,” and there was light.” In like manner, when He said to you, “Be fruitful,” you must be fruitful –no matter what must have held you down. Your fruitfulness is not dependent on your anatomy, the doctor’s diagnosis or the x-ray reports. Rather, it has everything to do with light from heaven.

Thus, all you need to do to be fruitful in marriage is to believe that just as everything God said at creation is still in place, your fruitfulness is thus guaranteed. The Word of God says: And blessed is she that believed: for there shall be a performance of those things which were told her from the Lord (Luke 1:45). It doesn’t matter whether you are ovulating or not, or whether your sperm count is low, when you believe what God has said, there is a performance of those things which the mouth of the Lord has spoken.
Below is a testimony of a sister, who disregarded her doctor’s report and held on to God’s Word:
“I got married in April 1998, and expected to have my baby immediately, but nothing happened. When I went to a hospital after I lost a pregnancy, the doctor there told me that I had fibroid and needed to undergo an operation before I could get pregnant again.
However, I didn’t believe the doctor’s report. Instead, I started praising God and forgot about the report. During the Victory Celebration ’98, Bishop Oyedepo prophesied that we would get pregnant. Before then, my periods had always flowed for 21 days, and were very heavy flows. My period started on the first day of the Victory Celebration but miraculously, the flow began to reduce until it became normal. In December, I discovered that I was pregnant. My baby was one month old in September 17, 1999!”

When God says, “There shall nothing cast their young, nor be barren…,” what He means is that there is no room for miscarriages or barrenness in your life. Therefore, your fruitfulness is not subjected to anyone’s opinion. The Word of God says: Thou shalt be blessed above all people: there shall not be male of female barren among you, or among your cattle (Deuteronomy 7:14). This means that fruitfulness is not a promise but a covenant. Furthermore, in Psalm 89:34, God assures us that He will not break His covenant, nor alter any word He has spoken. Your responsibility, therefore, is to believe God’s own report because it is your believing that brings it into reality (Luke 1:45).
The grace to become fruitful only comes from God by surrendering your life to Christ. If you want to surrender your life to Christ, please say this prayer:
“Dear Lord Jesus Christ, I come to You today. I am a sinner. Forgive me of my sins and cleanse me with Your Blood. Deliver me from sin and satan to serve the living God. I accept You as my Lord and Saviour. Make me a child of God today. Thank You for accepting me into Your Kingdom.”
If you prayed this simple prayer, you are now a child of God. He loves you and will never leave you. Read your Bible daily, obey God’s Word and seek Christian fellowship (John 14:21).

Congratulations! You are now born again! All-round rest and peace are guaranteed you, in Jesus’ Name. Call or write, and share your testimonies with me through contact@faithoyedepo.org; OR 07026385437 and 08141320204.
